Scott RodgvilleBaltimore, MD (June 9, 2015) — Gorfine, Schiller and Gardyn, PA is thrilled to announce that Scott Rodgville, CPA, won a Baltimore SmartCEO CPA & ESQ Award in the Industry Practice category at the inaugural CPA & ESQ Awards luncheon on June 4, 2015.  The award program recognizes the region’s enterprising accountants and attorneys in different categories for their accomplishments, leadership, and innovations.  Winners are judged on how they personally influence the success of their clients’ businesses.  Honorees are chosen based on their extraordinary contributions to clients’ bottom lines in respective areas of accounting and niche service offerings.

The nominations were reviewed by an independent committee who evaluated detailed questionnaires and video interviews submitted to Baltimore SmartCEO for the contest.  Winners were announced live at the luncheon at the Grand Historic Venue in Baltimore City.

As an Officer at GSG, Scott leads the audit and accounting department, providing services to clients in many diverse industries, but with significant niches developed in real estate, nonprofits and employee benefit plans.

Scott’s management of several pioneering projects led to receiving the prestigious award.  The first of those projects involved winning a significant client engagement by collaborating with an independent CPA firm through our affiliation with PKF North America, an international accounting network of 95 CPA firms.  One of his other innovations involved transitioning the firm to a completely paperless environment.  Working with a not-for-profit client to undergo a process of reinvention was a third project that Scott managed and implemented.  The client had historically been heavily reliant upon a government grant; however, renewal of the grant was in doubt.  Scott and his team were able to identify the pros and cons of certain new potential lines of business along with the budgeting matters to consider and determine how the contract’s potential loss would affect the organization financially.

When Baltimore SmartCEO asked Scott to share some words of wisdom, he said, “Be honest and treat people with respect as you want to be treated.”  He is a successful innovator and we are proud of his many accomplishments.
