Keefer Advances in the Organization’s Board After Serving as Treasurer for Four Years

The Carroll Child Care and Learning Center (CCCLC) recently elected Matthew Keefer, Senior Manager of Gorfine, Schiller & Gardyn, P.A.’s (GSG) Tax Department, to serve as Chairman of the Board of Directors.
CCCLC is a non-profit organization cultivating early childhood education and care. The organization provides a healthy environment for children to learn and grow and even offers qualifying families subsidized tuition. CCCLC educates children with a challenging curriculum from credentialed staff and supplies nutritious meals, which include breakfast, lunch and snacks throughout the day.
“We’ve been fortunate to have Matt share his accounting knowledge as our Treasurer for the past four years,” said CCCLC’s Executive Director, Kara McFalls. “Matt has always been a proactive contributor, so when it came time to elect a new chair, we knew he would be the one to not only continue to improve CCCLC, but to propel the organization into the future.”
A Carroll County resident and father himself, Keefer quickly became invested in the organization’s mission after joining in 2013.
“GSG has always encouraged its employees to take our skillset outside of the office and into the community,” said Keefer. “It’s been a great experience joining CCCLC’s board and witnessing the passion of the organization firsthand. I’m looking forward to taking over as chair and finding new ways to grow and improve the organization.”
Keefer’s advancement in the organization comes at a time of recent board activity for GSG. Just this year, GSG’s Michael Mandish was elected to the Baltimore Estate Planning Council Board of Directors, while John Mahaffey took over as President of the Habitat for Humanity of Carroll County’s Board of Directors.
