Steven M. Kaplon, CPA

Steven Kaplon has more than 25 years of experience in accounting and auditing in the not-for-profit, real estate, and employee benefit plan industries. He provides clients with a full spectrum of accounting and consulting services, including auditing and other attest services, preparation and analysis of financial statements, tax planning and preparation of income tax returns. Steve supervises audits directed toward compliance with accounting, governmental and auditing standards.

Other areas of expertise for Steve include over 20 years of experience with educational, health and welfare, civic, and religious organizations.

Steve obtained his Bachelor of Science in Accounting from the Towson University Honors College in 1989. He was subsequently awarded the Sells Award for passing the CPA exam in 1989 upon his first attempt and with one of the highest scores in the country. He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) and the Maryland Association of Certified Public Accountants (MACPA).

Steve has served as an advisor on a not-for-profit’s strategic planning committee and has served as a board member for an educational institution. He is active in the Towson University Accounting Alumni Program and speaks to accounting students about the field of public accounting and what to expect after graduation.
